The Bottelary trails are a mix of jeep tracks and singletracks. Distance range between 10-50km, all depending where you start and how you link the trails. Wherever you ride you will have beautiful views and the feeling of riding in the mountains. The Jordan trail is a gem. Amazing singletrack twisting through a pine forest. Then curving down the slopes either to the restaurant or back to Zevenwacht with a short lungbuster. Start either from Jordan or Zevenwacht Wine Estate.

The Bottelary trails have a variety of options. The Jordan trail is suitable for all skill levels. A good mix of jeeptrack and singletrack. The singletrack twists through vineyards and pine forest. The lower singletrack on the slopes take you down to either the restaurant of Jordan or back to Zevenwacht via Jeeptrack with a short lungbuster climb. Park at either Jordan or Zevenwacht.

The Bottelary Hills have great trails - from jeeptracks to mountain singletracks. Quite a bit of hills to work the legs. Gorgeous scenery and views. Most of the entry farms sells day permits. A ride can become quite long on Bottelary Hills and best to plan your route well.

Tokai Mountain Bikers do an enormous amount of work in building, maintaining and upgrading the trails. Just a pity that our mountains are so rocky!!!

This trail caters for all riders of various skill levels; It is my weekly goto trail and I have started out as a beginner on this trail 2 years ago. It can be access from a number of farms and have exit routes Kuilsriver to Stellenbosch and anywhere in between. New sections have been added recently and the trails are always maintained.

I am really surprised to find one of my favourite routes this far down the ranking. It IS a bit of an undiscovered, hidden gem. But once you have discovered the beauty of the Renosterveld-area with insane singletrack running through forests and along dams and vineyards, you will return weekly if you live in the area. They also offer (free) guided rides to introduce and familiarize riders with the different route options. In Winter these trails drains better than most of the surrounding trails as it has beach type soil. The trails run over working farms and have views of Table Mountain and all the Stellenbosch mountains. Use the Trailforks App to further familiarize yourself with the area/trails. I give it a solid 9/10.

Only started seriously cycling the Bottelary Trails this year, takes a while to get used to it all but once you get the hang of it all comes together. Beautiful scenery, smooth single tracks and solid climbs. Will give it a solid 8/10. The signs and maps on the trails do need some updating even though you can’t really get lost. All comes together very nicely, Hope this helps

Well maintained trails that can be ridden by beginners. You can get some distance in as it takes some climbing to get to some of the single track. As a beginner I liked the fact that the single track was manageable and not too technical. Stunning views across the Peninsula and a fun place to ride. The riders here also seem more friendly than others I have encountered
